Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinid from Switzerland

I saw this fly July 17 near Mavaglia (Tessin) at approx 1400 m altitude. I know the photograph is poor, and it is the only one from this site. Nevertheless, I'll give it a try. Size of
Tachina fera, which it resembles. it was flying near a rough road on top of a steep ramp, between roots of plants that were exposed by the ramp. Meadows with coniferous forest at close range.

Looks like
Nowickia sp. - note the dark parts are really jet-black, not brown as in the
Tachina fera group. I can't see enough to go to species though

on second thought, this is probably the same species, seen close to the earlier one. So a better photograph after all!

and another one, different fly at slightly different location, couple of hours later

The first one is a female Nowickia, the second a male.
Impossible to ID from picture.
The first one looks like Nowickia as well, my gut feeling however (and the colouration of the antennae) tells it might be Peleteria. Related genus
