Well, as far as I understand Jens-Hermann, this should be Conops again.

Yes - it is again Conops cf flavifrons.

Jens-Hermann

P. s. It is realy hard to identify Physocephala and it is hardly possible to explain the characters at a picture. You are welcome to send material for identification and when you see larger series you wil recognise the species. There are many characters that are used in older keys veryx variable within one spoecies (pleural stripe, colouration of the wing in a few species, colouration of the legs, ...)

awkward ok. I will fix all ancient threads. Smile
But still lacks an explanation that certainly would interest all of us. Smile Thank you.

I collected all I saw. Today I saw Chaoboridae (the first!), literally thousands of Sciomyzidae (I found a paradise for Nikita - eheh), one utterly awesome chloropid (perhaps one of the most beautiful I saw - beats even the beautiful Mythicomyiidae of javig - ), Tachypeza sp.; a strange syrphid, a new Tachinidae in the same place of Bauhmaeuria microps, again the Cyrtus gibbus (it is rather common here), but no Ogcodes, no Acrocera, no Astomella, no Mythicomyiidae, no Fallenia, no Dryomyzidae, no .... Smile

And I found evaniidae wasp, and a new spectacular ichneumonid. Wink

I was in Serra da Estrela. Great place! Smile
