Hi,
This syrphid allowed for one picture only, and this is, as expected, of poor quality (Murphy's Law!) Is it possible to identify the lovely animal nevertheless? My guess is
Xylota, possibly
X. segnis. Any other founded opinion is welcome. The photo was taken in the Spaeth-Arboretum, Berlin, on 18 July 2007.
