Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae - Fucellia cf. tergina

Hi
* locality - Manta Rota beach - near Monte Gordo - ALGARVE - PORTUGAL
* date - 2007.09.29
* size - 7 mm (medium fly)
* habitat - beach
* substrate - on seaweed.
I thought in Coelopidae, but there are features that are off. The same for Heterocheilidae. So, Dolichopodidae??

Which one? I'm curious about this one.
EDIT---> Title changed from "Seaweed fly." to "Anthomyiidae - Fucellia cf. tergina"

Hi Jorge,
I think it is Anthomyiidae, probably one of the abundant Fucellia swarming on seaweeds ?

that was my fear! grrr... these Anthomyiidae.

During this afternoon I was thinking about this fly (yeah... crazy) and I had an idea that could be Anthomyiidae. Yes, we could see a swarm.

Anthomyiidae not yet for me.

Kahis or Nikita have probably their idea...

I'm waiting for better weather to go again on the beach.
