Hi
* locality - Montesinho - Bragan?a - PORTUGAL
* date - 2007.10.01
* size - 7 mm (medium fly)
* habitat - openland
* substrate - resting on dry grass.
I was baffled to realize that I spotted a Bombyliid in cold weather in final afternoon. It was cold - about 15 ?C.
This is by sure the most late Bombyliid I've ever seen. Is it usual?
Geron sp. I think. Very beautiful fly!

for me, this bombyliid was a surprise. I didn't expect to find one during this month.

Even I found many Phasia (tachinidae like warmer temperatures) very near this bombyliid.
Montesinho is a very good place for Asilidae, Tabanidae, specially. The best place I found so far for these families.
