Slovakia, 9.06.2019, Great Fatra Mts., mountain valley, rather large Cheilosia

After complicated keying, I came into this species. Eyes seem to be bare (M.P.Veen key says "virtually bare in lower part", which may make hair invisible on photos), there is a small dark patch in the middle of tibia 3. There are no bristles on the scutellum but there are some on postalar cali. Hair on a thoraic dorsum are short and erect, abdomen is broad ("as broad as long" )

In the field the specimen looked very shiny.

Am I right with my ID?

Thank you for your opinions in advance

Matej

As there some active members here now, I will try to revive this older post. Maybe somebody has some idea.

Hi treebeard,
unfortunately I cannot tell you the species for sure, but it reminds me of Cheilosia canicularis with the wavy hair on the anepisternum
I would guess it´s somwhere in the canicularis group ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

best regards Daniel
