These three Ephydridae are from a dry, relict heathland site in Shropshire, UK. I have run them through a draft key, but I am unconvinced by my determinations. I have them as Hydrellia modesta, Scatella tenuicosta (the wing spots look wrong in my specimen) and Mosillus subsultans (which is clearly wrong).

No.1 is
Scatella, possibly
stagnalis, but I can't be sure from this photo.
No.2 is
Hydrellia, probably
griseola, as that is the common species found in dry grassland
No.3 is
Philygria - one of the clear winged species (which I find rather difficult to separate with certainty - so I won't even suggest which species without seeing the specimen!
