Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Puppipara! Israel

23.10 in the house. Lots of gardens around, some bats and many birds (which are the hosts for the puppipara, rigt?).
This is my second encounter with these remarkeble things. Is it possible to identify this?

Second view: (But it is even weirder latterally! And also very amusing Grin)

This flatness is supposed to be an adaptment to parisitic lifestyle - It's harder to scartch that out this way.

Hippoboscidae. I never saw them alive.
Just a friend of mine that showed to me (dead specimens).

Looks special. It's not Hippobosca and it doesn't look like Ornithomyia, so given the locality Pseudolynchia comes in mind.
