Hello,

yesterday 3.June, I get bite from this horseflie, but I don#t know, is it C. caecutiens, C. relictus or another
Chrysops?

It was in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in my garden, and the insect was flying around my head, before it found a place to bite.
It was around 1 cm.

Greetings
Chris

Germans started learning, or at least reading, dutch starting the historic 1981 release of “Zweefvliegen van Noordwest Europa en Europees Rusland, in het bijzonder van de Beneluxlanden” by Volkert van der Goot. So it is a tradition.

But don’t despair ! Andre and myself are working on an English version.
