Hello all,

in a biotope where the wild bee Dasypoda hirtipes occurs I saw this fly sitting on the ground. Can it be Miltogramma oestraceum?

Data: Germany, Lower Saxony, Hannover, Kugelfangtrift (acidophilous xeric grassland), 50 m, 7 July 2019.

Best wishes,
Tina.

females of oestraceum and germari cannot be separated and in most parts of Niedersacksen I’d expect the latter. But Hannover is quite far from the dutch border ....

The family is Sarcoohagidae.

Hello Theo,

thanks for the information!

Yes, regarding the family I had the wrong name on my mind last night.

Best wishes,
Tina.
