Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chironomidae? Yes - Chironomus sp.

Hi,
I found this diptera on the wall of my balcony near Bologna, Italy on May 13, 2020 - is the family correct and is it possible to further identify it. Thanks a lot for your help Smile

Yes, family is correct, and it's one of the tribe Chironomini, possibly Chironomus sp. John Carr may be able to say more.

The large frontal tubercles suggest Chironomus.
