Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Bellardia or Calliphora (vomitoria) from 19.08.20 --> Onesia cf. sepulchralis
#1
Hello,
this 10 mm Calliphoridae male visited
Eupatorium cannabinum flowers in our courtyard last year (northwest Germany). Because of the greenish shine I think of
Bellardia, but I am not sure. It seems to have an orange "beard" like
Calliphora vomitoria.

Calypter is white, so not vomitoria.
Antenna is lomg, so no Bellardia.
Onesia ?

Thank you, Theo!
The one below (from 01.08.2018) was identified for me by JohnEs82 as
Onesia austriaca. It also seems to have a yellow beard!

Yes, IA = 0 + 3, Onesia it is.
Both species are extremely similar.

Given general distribution, I’d say Onesia cf. sepuchralis.
Interesting, by the way, Onesia is never recorded in the Netherlands. We must be on the lookout !

Thanks, I'll change it.

The Netherlands are not too far from here...
