Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Gonia sp.? --> Gonia vacua

Looking through my last years' photos, I found another Gonia - maybe it can be identified.
09. May 2020, abandoned sandpit, Lüneburg, easter Niedersachsen, Germany.

Pity we don’t have a good view on the abdominal tip, but this definitely looks like Gonia vacua ! An east European species.

Hello Theo,
many thanks again! Then this is the third specimen at least suspicious to be
Gonia vacua in this region. The others were
this
https://diptera.i...d_id=94839
and this one
https://diptera.i...d_id=98187
Do you think there is enough evidence in the photos to add the species to the Niedersachsen list?

Yes, I do. It is not only the narrow black vitta, but also the very yellow head. Hardly possible these are all artefacts of the light.
Gonia ornata and others are much whiter on the head. Divisa does have a yellow head, but different abdominal pattern.

Very good! And thanks for the typical characters!
Anyway, I'll try to catch one of these this spring.
