Hi Elena, yes - it's a female C. tibialis.

Greetings, Eric

Well, they have 4-5 species in Italy, which can only be recgnized by genitalia. I would stop at Chorisops.

C. tibialis is the only sp present in IT, according to faunaitalia... What about the others??

Hi Elina,

There are not many Entomological publications, certainly of Diptera, from Italy. But there are some very good ones, there is one about Stratiomyiidae: https://www.resea.../258065960

faunaitalia clearly is not....

Kind regards,
Ectemnius

That's true, Ectemnius! But unfortunately there are not enough images to exclude caroli and masoni which are possible for Lazio, too. I think we can only exlude nagatomi due to it's mostly yellow abdomen.

And to be honest, the key to Chorisops in the last publication s*cks. Text of the key does not match with the illustrations...
