I must admit, I don't like the current wet and windy weather (raining instantly for more than two days now at 9-12 ?C), but -1 to -2 ?C and a little snow would be enough for me... Wink

But I can offer an adult Episyrphus balteatus from 19-January from Switzerland (around Bern) here:

I saw E. balteatus today at midday and yesterday too... Never saw so early this species.

Brrr..., is it cold down there... Wink We had 12 ?C even at 3 and 5 o'clock last night here in northwest Germany. And 14 ?C this afternoon - but with storm and rain, which prevented me to go out and look for flies. But perhaps I'll go into the garden with my UV lamp later...


we have a very pleasant 18? C during the day. Grin Pfft
