Hello everyone, For this one, I managed to go to Stevenia and after discussion, we think it might be S. umbratica or S. kugleri. Thank you for your help! Neither. It is in the deceptoria complex. Species you mentioned are much darker Theo |

I'm afraid I am stuck with this one. To my knowledge, only acutangula, deceptoria, atramentaria and umbratica are listed to be present in France. I tried using this key to sort things out, but with no luck. I would discard acutangula because wing cell r4+5 is not with a short petiole. I first discarded deceptoria because tergites 1+2 to 4 usually were not with a clear yellow posterior margin and more and less red lateraly. I would also discard atramentaria because the body is not entirely black. We also noticed that this specimen has crossed post-ocellar setae, do you think this can help in any way? Otherwise, I will stay at Stevenia sp. Thank for your help! It is deceptoria sl. no doubt but this might be a complex. And you might have at least two, if valid, in France Theo |
