Stevenia from Belgium for ID 2021-08-13
Tetrao
I pictured this specimen in Belgium on 2021-08-13.
From other discutions it seems to be Stevenia sp.
Is it possible to ID to the species ?

According to the keys at https://www.mapre...24p041.pdf it could be Stevenia deceptoria with this orange ring at the end of antennal segment 2 ?

Thank you for help !

YEes, deceptoria. In just a few years time, it has become the most common Stevenia in our countries.

It is spreading rapidly in North America too. The first known sighting was in 2010 and its range now spans 750 km, from Pittsburgh to Chicago.

Have it been introduced ?

John Carr
It was introduced accidentally to North and South America. Our native Rhinophoridae are rarely seen. The immigrants are much more common where people live.
