Drosophila from East-Belgium - ID needed
Pumpkinshark
Was found indoors, dead, and I put it ethyl alcohol. I have the sample with me so more pictures can be taken if necessary.
Thanks in advance!

Could you try to give more information on the coloration of abdominal tergites (wiew from above and from the side/below)?

Pumpkinshark
I've taken some more pictures, this time with better lighting.
The drawing is from the underside as I couldn't take a good picture of it

Now it is clear: a female of the famous D. melanogaster.

Carnifex
how can suzukii and simulans be excluded?
Cheers, Lorin

All requests are from the urban area of Vienna, if not otherwise stated.

My Diptera observations (and other living forms) can be found here, and corrections or comments over there would also be appreciated.

The first (dark) pictures show wide cheeks, so not D. simulans. As concerns suzukii, I admit it is not quite excluded, though I think its oviscapt should be better visible in this case. Another chance for Pumpkinshark - to take picture(s) of abdominal end?

Pumpkinshark
For reference: The magnification is x35
