Hi everyone, For this one I think it could be Minettia fasciata, do you think this is correct? ![]() Cédric Mondy : France : Saint-Maur-des-Fossés : 94100 : 07/10/2021 Altitude : 41 m - Taille : 4.5 mm Réf. : 295922 ![]() Cédric Mondy : France : Saint-Maur-des-Fossés : 94100 : 07/10/2021 Altitude : 41 m - Taille : 4.5 mm Réf. : 295923 ![]() Cédric Mondy : France : Saint-Maur-des-Fossés : 94100 : 07/10/2021 Altitude : 41 m - Taille : 4.5 mm Réf. : 295924 Edited by CedricMondy on 10-01-2022 08:48 Cédric |

Hi, I read that species from fasciata group could be difficult on photos, do you think we could at least validate this group or am I am wrong? By the way, where could I find the list of the species from this group to cross-search with the list of species reported in France? Thank you! Cédric |

Merz, Bernhard. 2004. Revision of the Minettia fasciata species-group (Diptera, Lauxaniidae). Revue Suisse de Zoologie 111 (1): 183-211 There are three species of the group in western Europe: fasciata, subvittata, and tabidiventris. |

Thank you John! Based on this key, I think mine could be subvitata based on the row of long black setae at posterior margin of tergite 3 and palpus rather yellowish. Do you think this is correct? Edited by CedricMondy on 21-12-2021 19:10 Cédric |

Happy new year to everyone! Do you think it is possible to go the species and if so, do you think the proposed ID is correct? Cédric |

Minettia fasciata, as the palpi are black apically and the lateral absominal spot between tergites and sternites is large and black.
