Apple snail parasite fly

Hello. These pupae were found parasitizing aquarium Apple snail eggs ("Pomacea diffusa", in the USA. Unfortuntely there are no pictures of the adult flies. I didnĀ“t find any mention of such behaviour in articles, only oportunistic parasitism with Phoridae, and some pictures with Psychidinae in the web. I am not even sure about the family, they reminded me some Ceratopogonidae, like "Forcipomyia". Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much! Edited by Walther Ishikawa on 21-12-2021 00:23 |
