Dolichopodidae, Thinophilus sp. male with parasites on abdomen. Please ID the parasite.

To me it makes rather impression of hypopi (sedentary nymphs) of Acaridae. You can try to make a microscopic preparation of some of these creatures. to be sure.

I have just found a paper (open access) that mentions Laboulbeniales on Thinophilus sp. Rossi Walter & Leonardi Marco. 2018. New species and new records of Laboulbeniales (Ascomycota) from Sierra Leone. Phytotaxa 358 (2): 091–116. https://doi.org/10.11646/phytotaxa.358.2.1 I recommend it for all. Igor Grichanov |

The finding is interesting, notwithstanding if you have fungi or hypopi. If you have fungi, W. Rossi would certainly enjoy obtaining them.
