I found this Cylindromyia on 19th June 2021 on nutrient-poor grassland in the very east of Niedersachsen (Germany), Landkreis Lüneburg. I tried to identify it using the key of Tschorsnig & Herting (2005). But as a tachinid beginner, I find it difficult to identify all the bristles and other features mentioned in the key. Yes, difficult genus. Antenne is longer and more orange in intermedia. If a basal scutellar bristle is present, intermedia is highly unlikely. So this is a small female brassicaria. Theo |

Thank you again, Theo! So there's a problem already in the first step of the key, where I decided for 1b (hind tibia with pv -bristles).
