Hello ! A friend of mine got this, which is I suppose is an Acroceridae, and I though it would be an Ogcodes sp. but cannot find any further identification. What do you think ? August 2018, Vierzon (center of france) 6mm Thanks ! |

Yes, that is an Ogcodes. Wing looks slightly smoky, in which case it is likely fumipennis, which is a little kniwn species. Theo |

Hello ! Thanks for your answer I can't find any data or info about this specie (though there is an Acrocera fumipennis). Do you have any documentation about it please? |

Thanks a lot ! I looked on gbif, google scholar and BioLib.cz species list and could'nt find this specie listed which is why I was kinda lost. I'll definitively get this (and the Veldgids Roofvliegen ) book as soon as possible, I didn't know about those ! Thanks a lot Also my friend told me he got another one in another site, but same habitat (oak canopy), is it its knwon habitat ? Edited by LeCrapoutch on 24-03-2022 21:07 |

You are welcome. If the legs are yelliw but the wing is clear, it is O. pallipes. Should be more common. Theo |
