Hi again, the 2nd fly today (Sept. 5th 2023) is may be part of the genus Pipunculidae ? on Impatiens parciflora. Region Celle, Lower Saxony, Germany 2 photos only and poor quality. Anyway, its a Pipunculidae or other genus, may be you know the species ? Many Thanks, Norbert Edited by nowaytofly on 06-09-2023 15:49 everyone can allways use my pictures for free, if you credit me with my nick "foto taken by nowaytofly" or similar and a weblink to this forum. |

Hi, looks like one of the small Phasia (Tachinidae), which are around here at the moment, like Phasia pusilla. Definitely not Pipunculidae. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

M1 vein straight, so that it is not Phasia. Wing venation is also different from that of Pipunculidae. This should be a platypezid. |

Ups, I overlooked the wing venation in the first picture. General look was too convincing... ![]() Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |
