Drosophila (1) - D. immigrans confirmed
Sundew
Hi,
Please let me show you a series of yellow Drosophila species. I hope we can put them in a group at least.
This female is from southern Brandenburg, photographed on 30th September. It was laying eggs in a stack of firewood. As only the posterior crossvein is clouded and the anterior isn't, and the shape of the dark tergite markings is different, I rule out D. kuntzei. What about D. immigrans?
Opinions are appreciated!
Thanks, Sundew

More pics. There MIGHT be the characteristic row of about 8-11 short sharp spines on the apical half of the anteroventral surface of the front femur (marked in green).

Yes, D. immigrans female. The dark denticles on the fore femur are well visible, although not exactly where the arrow points.

The arrow just points to the green line Grin (that is marking the denticle row). So I got the right species - wow! Thanks!
