Beautiful !

It is a Calliphoridae alright,
in or near the genus Rhynchomyia.
The black spots on the parafrontalia give it away.

But I have never seen this species.

Excuse me Theo, but now I have keys and it born a lot of questions.
1. I found that Stomophina distinguish from Rhinchmyia by plumose arista. But in http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?forum_id=5&thread_id=1130#post_4431 is not visible whether arista plumose or not. How did you know that it is Stomorhina?
2. In Europ.Rus.Diptera key there is only one fly with spots on "face"(?) and with metallic-green but very much white dusty abdomen - R. peusi. Is it the case or not?

Hi Nikita,

Do you need to cell whether the topcel is open or closed to ID Eristalis tenax ?
No, you don't, because you know this species.
But the keys say you do.
It is the same here.

There are many species of Rhynchomyia in Arabia and North Africa.
So I am not going to speculate which species it is. Sorry.

Theo
