Sochi, Black sea, early spring (07.03), small forest mountan stream, 10-15mm, in places with the most fast flow, on stones.

Realy, they looks like Plathelmyntes. I didn't regard this possibility because of very fast water, I don't know why.

Mario, I did check Yankovsky key for Simuliidae. Still without final conclusion. Or with conclusion that photo itself isn't good enought to come to conclusion. Next spring I'll visit Sochi again and try to find answer. Nikita Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |
