Hi,

I took the liberty of asking the people on the BWARS forum, and according to Stuart Roberts, it's a species of Sphex. Stuart isn't familiar with the Iberian species so this is the best he can do.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Ammophila is likely for you too but flying very close to the ground where it is sandy (noun sand).Ammophila has a very long abdomen. See

Yes, this wasp was near a sandy ground. I just now know that the bite of these wasps (family Sphecidae) are very painful...

The Sphex looks more yellow and with ... and this one ir much more black and reddish. Now I think that is Ammophila, but I'm still with doubts...
More opinions, please!
Thank you to all! Smile
