Are you running a malaise trap??
Gordon
If you are a dipterist running a malaise trap somewhere and you are a thinking what should I do with the microhymenopterans, those perfect miniatures that are so impossible to get anybody interested in, then my friend Lucian Fusu would like to hear from you. A group of three microhymenopertists enompassing 5 or 6 families working out of the University of Iasi in Romania (where it is wet and cool today) would be very interested in receiving material from anywhere, they need not be well sorted, any very small hymenopterans will do.

If you have such material you would like to see used and not just wasted or stored (microhyms bleach in storage so only have a shelf life of less than a decade anyway) contact lucfusu@yahoo.com
Diptera material may well be available in exchange, providing you do not want it sorted.

I know where the Empidoidea should go (excluding the Dolichopodidae, by the way)...

Dear Paul,
OK I will tell them to send the empids to you once you have finished with my stuffSmile, no point distracting you. To get it you may have to accept bulk loads of material that has only had the microhyms removed, or else wait. I am hoping to help with some sorting in the future, but first I must get some work done on my own material.

Dear Jorge,
What fly families would you like in exchange for your microhyms, assuming the future is kind to us all.Pfft

I should also say to everybody, this is not limited to Malaise material, it doesn't matter how you collect the material, the idea is to exchange unwanted material, Yellowpan Traps often catch different species to malaise traps for example.

Gordon, I didn't mount the malaise trap yet.
But I can deliver some hymenopteran species for ID purposes. Smile

I'm interested virtually in all braycheran dipters. Smile I will tell which are my favourites soon. Wink

Dear Jorge and other dudes,

I would like to offer my help with the identification of the Dolichopodidae. If you accept, please, send an email message to marc.pollet@inbo.be or mp@iwt.be for further arrangements.

As you know (or not), at this moment only 24 species of Dolichopodidae have been recorded from Portugal, so imagine the numerous additions we could make to the national list!

Cheers,
Marc
