A syrph ?

I think that this fly is syrph, but the species i didn't know
Find on trunk of oak, in the sun
Photo taken in NE of France, near Metz

What's the differences with a female apart the eyes, the female have a different abdomen (rounded ?) that the male (tubular), someone have a photo of a female of Xylota segnis ??

There's a good photo of a female at http://www.veluwe...ylota.html which shows the eye separation, and another at http://www.garden...1_6303.jpg which shows how the tip of the abdomen often has a bit of the ovipositor showing. The males are "finished off" in a more rounded shape. Of course, when the females are full of eggs, the abdomen is much more swollen.
