Erax from France
benoit
Hello,

I think that this is an Asilidae of the genus Erax because of the smoked/darkened cross veins and shape of the antennae. Do you agree?

Photo taken the 3 May 2014 in Vaucluse (southern France - 84).

Thank-you
Benoit

Benoit - and note a characteristic, dense, white hair on the lower part of the scutum, just before the scutellum.
