Diptera (syrphid?) from potting soil?

Hello, We have an enquiry from a substrate manufacturer whose customer complains that this diptera (syrphid?) has allegedly hatched from a bag of potting soil. Can it be determined from the pictures? What do the larvae feed on when they have developed in potting soil? Northwest Germany, June 2020 Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge Thomas |
