I guess an Eccoptomera filata male will have a higher price than a Suillia variegata, but what will be the difference between variegata and affinis?
rvanderweele 17 November 2010 23:24:27
so, stalked-eyed flies have commercial value. I think in a few years we will look in a new edition of the Cat. of. Pal. Diptera, in which also the "price" of the species are given.

while running a 10K I saw quite some Calliphoridae flying. And no, I did not drink wine before putting on my running shoes!
rvanderweele 14 November 2010 13:25:33
I don't like the use of alcohol. I rather drink it Wink It is easy to put the flies on EtOH, but to use them laater becomes a nuisance.
