as you can see the wings are absent AND this must be AN UNIQUE CASE (or at least extremely rare)... there are no HALTERES! Frown and it is a fly... awkward

Nigel, here you can see the sketch of Aenigmatias. The image will be available for some days though. It is a phorid fly. Very strange fly. Wink

there are no photos in the web. Sad I just saw it once in a book - a scheme, not really a photo. But Aenigmatias (correct spelling) is very unusual for a fly. I will try to get a photo of the sketch. :

I think you are right Paul. It must have been a temporary server error. The link is fine now.
Paul Beuk 29 September 2007 19:42:06
Hmm, no problems for me. I click the link, the pdf opens in the browser, and I can save it to my computer. Maybe a server error when you tried.
Paul Beuk 29 September 2007 08:25:28
I will address it later. Thx.

The setae and morphological photos from Tony T and Jorge are excellent. Paul, can we have a Morphology section under M in the glossary, or better still a new morphology section?
jorgemotalmeida 27 September 2007 20:36:47
Tony Irwin, please see if "the thorax lateral view" thread is alright now. I think so. Smile

Hi Nikita - if you are in south-east Turkey, could you collect any Scatella with pres DC for me? - I need some good material of the new species from there! Thanks, Tony
