This sp has now been named. It is H. curicoa (Sinclair, BJ & Plant, AR. A new species of Hydropeza Sinclair from Chile [Diptera: Empididae]; Acta. entomol. chil. 31(2) 7-10 [2007])
The genus is found only in Chile and New Zealand and is a part of the Ragas-group whose position is unresolved in the Empididae and may require new subfamily status.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
