UK, 2008. In Britain this species is usually found on dry limestone or chalk soils; males hover with prey about the tips of twigs on buches and mate with females coming into the swarm.

In the UK I collected it on Mitcham Common, north in Surrey, where it was swarming under overhanging branches of maple. In the Netherlands I collected in a park on clayish soil where there was a swarm, also under overhanging branches. The males caught their prey in swarm of calyptrate flies under another overhanging branch a few meters away.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
