Drosophila suzuki -->> Meiosimyza decempunctata
Hurlzzz
My iPhone has recently started suggesting I lookup the identity of objects (plants, animals, insects) that I have photographed (a feature of Siri apparently).
If I click the Info symbol (i) while displaying a photo a link such as "Look Up - Bug" appears.
This has lead me to review some older photos in which I had failed to identify the subject.

For this recent photo, (Aug 26th suburban kitchen Dublin, Ireland) it has suggested Drosophila suzuki.

Could that be correct? How reliable is Siri?

Hello,

Hurlzzz wrote:How reliable is Siri?

seems to be not very reliable. This is not Drosophila suzukii, not even Drosophilidae, but Lauxaniidae. I think, Meiosimyza decempunctata.
