Drosophila cf. immigrans
Juergen Peters
Hello!

There are many Drosophila at rotten fruits here in the garden (Ostwestfalen/Germany) at the moment. One species has a darkened abdomen ending. Is this Drosophila melanogaster? Length about 3 mm. Thanks in advance!

It appears as if the cross veins are clouded. In that case it will be a species of the quinaria group (phalerata, transversa, etc.).

Though some specimens are rather palish, there alo appear to be markings near the apices of some of the radial veins. In that case it could be D. immigrans.

I must admit, I had lightened the pics a little bit by software because the photos were too dark.

there also appear to be markings near the apices of some of the radial veins. In that case it could be D. immigrans.

Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Jürgen
